Dance Deewane Season 1: The Ultimate Dance Reality Show

Dance Deewane is the ultimate dance reality show. The show consists of 10 people with different dancing skills, who will compete against each other and stand a chance to win the title of Dance Deewane. The auditions for Dance Deewane Season 1 was announced in June 2016 and the production began from July 2016. The show is based on the format of popular international dance shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and India’s Best dancer. It features a panel of judges like Ananya, Niki and Adeel, who will be judging contestants on the basis of their performance, technique and creativity. The judges will be able to give constructive criticism and advice to contestants so that they can improve their dancing skills throughout the competition.

Who Can Participate in Dance Deewane?

 

Anyone who is interested in dance can participate in the auditions for Dance Deewane.   • Sherry: Sherry has been a part of the Indian dance industry for almost a decade now. She has been trained by some of the renowned dance schools in India. Sherry has represented India in numerous International dance competitions such as the World Dance Council and Asian Dance Council. She has also won many awards for her dancing skills. Sherry has performed on various popular dance reality shows such as Dance Plus 2 and Dance Champions.
  • Rahul: Rahul is a trained dancer and has worked in various Bollywood films as a dance artist. He has performed with established Bollywood dancers like Ganesh and Shonali Nagrani. Rahul has also been trained in martial arts and has won many medals at martial arts competitions. Rahul is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and has performed in many Bharatanatyam shows across the world.
  • Aarav: Aarav has been passionate about dance ever since he was a kid. He has been trained in Bollywood and Contemporary styles of dance. He has also won first place in a competition held by Zee Dance. Aarav has also performed on many popular dance reality shows like Dance Plus 2 and Dance Champions.

Dance Partners: Baap-Beta-Dhokha!

When it comes to dance, there is no doubt that partners are important and have to work in sync with each other. In Dance Deewane, contestants will be paired with each other as their dance partners. The dance partners will be selected by the judges depending on the skill level and compatibility of each contestant. The judges will also let the contestants know about their dance partner a few days before the actual challenge begins. The contestants will have to put in a lot of effort and shed blood and sweat so that they can get the best out of their dance partners and deliver an amazing performance.

Elimination Round: Judgement Day

One of the important rounds in Dance Deewane is the elimination round. This round will happen at the end of every episode. Every contestant will perform on the stage and the judges will decide who has to leave the competition based on their performance and overall impact on the judges. The person who gets the ‘Judgement Day’ pass in the final episode will win the competition and will be crowned the Dance Deewane Season 1 winner.

Episode 2: Blindfolded Challenge and Elimination

In this episode, the contestants will be challenged to perform a blindfolded dance. The contestants will not only have to perform a fancy dance but also have to perform it while wearing a blindfold. The contestants who perform well in the challenge will get a ‘Judgement Day’ pass and will be safe from elimination in the next round.

The judges will also eliminate one contestant from the competition in this episode. The contestants who are eliminated will not be able to perform again in the show. Their journey in Dance Deewane will come to an end in this episode.

Episode 3: Syncronized Group Dancing Challenge and Elimination

In this episode, the contestants will be challenged to perform a syncronized group dance. The contestants will have to work as a team and put in all their efforts so that they can perform a perfect dance. After the performance, the judges will evaluate each team and select the best performing team. The judges will select two teams that performed well and give them a ‘Judgement Day’ pass. The remaining two teams will be eliminated from the competition.

The judges will also eliminate one contestant from the competition in this episode. The contestants who are eliminated will not be able to perform again in the show. Their journey in Dance Deewane will come to an end in this episode.

Episode 4: Solo Dancing Challenge and Elimination

In this episode, the contestants will be challenged to perform a solo dance and impress the judges. The contestants will have to perform on a certain theme and create an impact on the judges. The contestants will have to give their best and perform a solo dance like they have never performed before. The judges will also eliminate one contestant from the competition in this episode. The contestants who are eliminated will not be able to perform again in the show. Their journey in Dance Deewane will come to an end in this episode.

Episode 5: Duet Dancing Challenge and Elimination

In this episode, the contestants will be challenged to perform a duet dance. Duet dancing is when two people dance together but are also connected with each other by a piece of elastic. In duet dancing, there will be two teams of two people each. The contestants will have to learn dancing styles that they usually don’t perform. The judges will select two teams that performed well and will give them a ‘Judgement Day’ pass. The remaining two teams will be eliminated from the competition.

The judges will also eliminate one contestant from the competition in this episode. The contestants who are eliminated will not be able to perform again in the show. Their journey in Dance Deewane will come to an end in this episode.

Episode 6: Grand Finale

In the final episode, the two finalists in Dance Deewane Season 1 will be challenged to perform one last dance. The contestants will have to perform a fusion style of dance that will be chosen by the judges. The winner of Dance Deewane Season 1 will be the contestant who performs well in the final challenge and impresses the judges the most. So, the two finalists will have to give their best in the final challenge.

The contestants who win the final challenge will walk away with a trophy and the title of Dance Deewane Season 1 winner. The finalists will also walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh each.
