Dilip Kumar And Saira Banu Slap Rs 200 Crore Defamation Notice on a Builder For Maligning Their Image: Dilip Kumar-Saira Banu Send Rs 200 Crore Defamation Notice to Builder For Maligning Their Image Veteran actor Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu have sent a defamation notice to builder Sameer Bhojwani for making false claims of ownership on their property which is worth Rs 250 crores. The notice sent on December 31 asks for Rs 200 crore for maligning their image along with the apology within 10 days. The case is in relation to a plot of land in Pali Hills where Saira wishes to make a museum dedicated to Dilip.
The notice to Bhojwani reads, “The said press note was published with a criminal intention to grab/ encroach the legitimate rights of my clients by creating a perception in the general public at large that you are the owner/ landlord of the said property and you are free to deal with the same. My clients have also come to know that you are trying for the sale of the property or a lien by representing yourself as the owner of the said property.” Earlier, in an interview with IANS, a distraught Saira Banu said, “It is disheartening to go through such a tumultuous phase at this age. They property rightfully belongs to Yusuf Khan saheb (Dilip Kumar). We neither have the support nor the strength to go through this continuous harassment by Sameer Bhojwani, whose only focus seems to usurping our land.”
A couple of days back, Saira also approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for help. She said, “The CM saab has been repeatedly saying he will help us and after the builder comes out of jail, he would do the needful. But it is three months now since the builder is out and nothing has moved from the CM’s side. There is no reaction even from the PM’s side. We hope they do something soon.”
