Kesari Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra Starrer Records Highest Opening Ever, Crosses Rs 20 Crore Nett Mark Says BO Report The official figures are still awaited but the BOI report suggests that the collections can go to Rs 21-22 crore nett. Chronicling a significant chapter of Battle of Saragarhi, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari has stumped this year’s Box Office record by grossing over Rs 20 crore on the first day of its release. Hitting cinema screens on the festival of colours, Holi, the movie marked Akshay’s return to action after a long interval and it has been met well with the fans as the rising numbers suggest.
According to a report by Box Office India, “Kesari has recorded the highest opening day of the year as it crosses the 20 crore nett mark. The collections can go to 21-22 crore nett also but that will depend on how the mass centers have played out as business on Holi is up and down with low collections in the morning and high in the evening.”
While the official first day Box Office collection of Kesari is still awaited, Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had shared his review of the movie on his Instagram handle which read, “#OneWordReview… #Kesari: OUTSTANDING! Rating: 4 Stars. Chronicles a significant chapter from history brilliantly… Nationalism, patriotism, heroism, scale and soul – #Kesari has it all… Akshay’s career-best act… Anurag Singh’s direction terrific… Don’t miss! #KesariReview” (sic).
Akshay plays the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, a Sikh soldier who valiantly fought the Battle of Saragarhi with a chakram (a circular weapon) in one hand and a glinting sword in the other while Parineeti plays his love interest in the film. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film hit theatres on March 21.
